PRIDE was designed in 1953 by David Mellor while still a student at the Royal College of Art. It was one of the first Design Council Award Winners in 1957 and is an acknowledged modern classic.

This version of PRIDE comes with white or black handled knives made from acetal resin, a tough, dishwasher safe material which will stand the test of time like all David Mellor cutlery. These white and black handled knives have the additional advantage of reducing the price of a set of PRIDE. The pattern is also available with silver plated knives, and also in polished stainless steel, you will find these versions elsewhere in this section of the website.

Standard sets are based on the 7 piece place set which consists of a table knife, table fork, soup spoon, dessert knife, dessert fork, dessert spoon and tea spoon. (A 6 piece place set is also listed - it is the above without the tea spoon!).  Additional pieces include serving spoon, coffee spoon, fish knife, fish fork and sauce ladle. The cutlery is gift boxed. All pieces can be purchased individually and sets can be made up to suit personal requirements.
