Robert Welch was appointed Royal Designer in 1965 and was one of the leading designers of the 20th century. After training as a silversmith at Birmingham College of Art, he moved to the Royal College of Art where he specialised in design for stainless steel cutlery production. Many of his designs can be seen in leading museums worldwide such as the Victoria & Albert, London and the Museum of Modern Art, New York. Important silver commissions include Canterbury Cathedral, No. 10 Downing Street and many British Embassies.
William Welch studied at the Royal College of Art and designed Comet, Mercury and Vista. His designs are innovative yet funtional and have been recognised by design councils in this country and abroad. Whilst design excellence is paramount to William, he understands, like his father, the true skill of designing items that people enjoy using.
We sell all the Welch cutlery designs and firmly believe they represent the very best in style and value. Their designs are exceptionally well balanced, efficient in use and are immensely durable. Prices start at just £125 for a 42 piece set for six people! |
