Sterling silver has a minimum of 925 parts pure silver per 1000, the remaining 75 parts are copper to give the silver added strength. Each piece is hallmarked and this means that it has been independently tested by one of the four UK Assay Offices and that it conforms to legal standards of fineness and purity.
